Save Oak Flat: The 12th Annual Prayer Run & March

The 12th Annual Oak Flat Prayer Run & March was a multi-day spiritual journey led by Apache Stronghold to protect Chi’chil Biłdagoteel (Oak Flat), a sacred site in Arizona’s Tonto National Forest. Through prayer, movement, and collective action, runners, walkers, students, climbers, and community members came together to honor the land and stand against the destruction of a place central to Apache culture, spirituality, and religious freedom. This annual gathering is rooted in “prayerful action” and serves as a call for unity, respect, and protection of what is sacred.
